NCCAT

It was a pleasure meeting all of you.  I look forward to staying in touch and learning more about each of you!  I am very proud to say that I have started the past few mornings with Coventry's stretching/Tai Chi.  I  hope all is well with you!

  1. I am so excited that Laura's set up this blog for us! I've been walking every day since I returned from NCCAT. On Saturday I even taught my kids a few Tai Chi moves while we were out walking on a nature trail. I hope all of you are staying relaxed! :)

  4. Thanks for putting this together for us Laura. It is awesome! Did Barbara give you the picture slide show? Can it be attached to this or sent via email? Is it too big or too much of a pain?
Wishing you all peace within and a Happy Halloween!

  5. I was asked to share this:

For me the beginning is the mind. To see each day as a gift, in which to spend time looking in and looking out. Each day I must learn to see the potential in my life. To continue in my journaling as a way of dealing with the good, the bad, and the ugly as it comes my way -- and it will. The trick is to be ready.

My arms are to be my way of touching the world around me because it needs to be touched. Reaching out and loving people that surround me in all those little ways -- hugs, kisses, a gentle touch, email, phone calls, and words of encouragement are just a few ways.

With my heart learning to see each person as a child of God - needing to feel special and loved. I can take time to speak to them, encourage them and pray for them as a demonstration of my love.

Then with my legs and feet we put the need for phyical activity into play. I must spend time keeping my body healthy and balanced or I not only fail myself but those around me.

Hope you have a fun and happy halloween!

  6. I am presenting a short snippet about what I learned at NCCAT at tomorrow's staff meeting... I just cannot do our experience justice, but am going to try. I smile thinking of all of you and our week. Hope everyone is doing well and I'm glad to be a part of the Well-Beings!

  8. Greetings,

It's great hearing from you all!

I'm doing well through a couple of challenging weeks: report cards, two early morning parent conferences - my favorite - and the most obnoxious and insulting parent email of my 20+ year teaching career. I kept my cool and my sense of humor and did not stay too stressed for too long. I feel even more gratitude for our excellent assistant principals, too!

I'm still trying to figure out some of my health issues, but a change to Nexium is helping, and I have an endoscopy scheduled for Monday. Think good thoughts!

While I'm not leaving school that much earlier, I am leaving behind school work and walking out the door at the end of my day with just my purse and my lunchbag after tying up loose ends and attending to urgent matters. It's very liberating, and I feel more "present" at home and at school this way.

I have been doing some deep breathing and meditating every now and then. It's helping. Still lots of room for improvement on the exercise piece...

Tomorrow my son and I will be off from school, and we'll start planning next summer's family road trip. Can't wait!

    Take care!

    Peace and love,

    Jeannine
